The boat
Barge shows
The Aurelia Feria is a Freycinet barge which measures 38,5m de long.
Built in 1959 in Strasbourg, the barge is among the boats offered by the French government to compensate boatmen who endured the World War II ship requisition.
This barge transported iron reel and also served as a pusher boat. Thanks to its relative small size which limited its economic profit, it now has the opportunity to serve the artistic world…
The first half of its surface is composed of a lovely little theater as well as a retractable roofed iron terrace which further contribute to the overall intimate atmosphere.
There are four large windows which enable the public to enjoy the water view and two emergency exits.
The concert room is made of wood and thus renders an excellent acoustic.
It is also equipped with a light and sound system.
Equipped with a Berliez motor 250PK, this barge, named “Aurelia Feria” in reference of its trio, travels at about 12km/hour (7.5 miles).
The group Aurelia Feria has already presented many concerts onboard, notably for the Festival Van Vlanderen or Radio Klara…
